Rescue Reston: Residents Strongly Battle An Insane Re-Zoning Proposal

I am honored to be asked to join the Board of “Rescue Reston”, a community-based organization which is vigorously fighting an insane re-zoning request by NWM Insurance, owner of the land at Reston National Golf Course.

I summarized the basic issues in a November 26, 2014 blog, which can be accessed by clicking below:

For more details on the issue, please go to the official web site:

Rather than summarize the myriad issues involving this case, I will simply state the following: I have been around a long time. I have seen issues involving this community and others which would make a sane person’s head spin in a frenzy. Never have I seen an issue which has galvanized 100% of residents. It does not matter where you stand on the political spectrum. It does matter your gender, your generation, your racial profile, your ethnicity…….. this ludicrous re-zoning effort by NWM is an assault on common sense.

Please click the links below for information on how you can help.

Your support and participation CAN and WILL help. We are not debating controversial issues here. Save the integrity of Reston’s Master Plan and the way of life which has consistently placed our community in the nation’s Top Ten of “Places to Live” in survey after survey. It is that simple.

The following is a flyer outlining the issue. We welcome you to share it:

Wonderful Life

The following is an interview with Rescue Reston’s key drivers, Connie Hartke and John Pinkman, on local TV. It is worth twenty minutes of your time to familiarize yourselves with the issue:

Thank you for your support.

I hope to meet you on January 21, 2015 at the Fairfax Government Center hearing at 9:00 am.
