Time Magazine Names Reston, Va. the Tenth Best Place to Live in America

Number Ten in All America! Good work Reston.

Time Magazine quoted these statistics:

Population – 61, 177

Median Home Price – $395,550

Median Family Income – $142,404

Projected Job Growth next 12 months – 1.8%

The article notes that Reston is the first planned community in the United States, and that the original plan and vision of its founder, Robert Simon, is still pretty much intact. Mr. Simon is still alive and active in the community.

The city has a range of lakes, 55 miles of bike/walking paths, a lively downtown Reston Town Center, and a growing job base with headquarters for ComScore, Google North America, Leidos, and others.

The Metro Silver Line recently opened, connecting Reston to the entire metropolitan area in ways not seen before.
