This is an important update to previous alerts regarding the incredible quality and value in these homes. Given the recent overall market slowdown, there has been an exaggerated effect on the spectacular homes in River Creek, a neighborhood which mysteriously did not fully recover from the market declines of 2008-2009. particular focus should be on the magnificent four-level homes on the bluff overlooking the Potomac river and the 17th/18th holes of the River Creek golf course. My disbelief that these one-of-a-kind masterpieces refuse to rebound significantly in price from the depth of 2009 has transformed into being completely mystified that several unique upscale homes are begging to be sold at recession-level prices. I am often asked by buyers to find them a “great deal”, usually in hopes that a bank-owned property will be tossed to the curb at 1/2 price. I cannot help you there; however, I can help you identify extreme value in a quality location which has a history of being unknown outside the immediate area. If buyers migrating from out of town knew of these bargains, the homes would likely disappear quickly from the active listing lists. The entire river Creek Country Club community is currently a “value buy., especially given many sellers’ willingness to sell well below what they once considered “reasonable levels”.
