Piedmont Country Club
Piedmont Country Club Featured Properties
Nestled amid the rolling hills of Virginia’s hunt country, the Piedmont golf course is a Tom Fazio-design, maintained in excellent condition year around. Although challenging, it is more playable than some of its peers, with wider fairways and medium-sized greens, for the most part. This is a challenging, but fair test of golf, and many levels of players can adjust the multitude of tee positions to play a course which fits their game. Recently, Piedmont sold to Club Corporation of America, an outstanding manager of golf courses. This allows playing privileges not only at Piedmont, but also at River Creek Country Club and Chantilly Country Club as well. The Club Corporation membership also allows for use of many facilities around the country. This new alliance is a major plus for Piedmont golf members.
As for the housing, Piedmont is a gated community of approximately 1,300 homes, directly out Route 66 about 40 miles from downtown Washington, D.C. Piedmont is known for its pleasant scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and points west of Washington, D.C. There is a wide variety of housing, from townhouses to larger single family homes. Prices declined with the overall national housing decline in 2008 and 2009; however, they are rallying back to close to previous high levels. The desire for beautiful housing in such a great setting, combined with recent employment growth more toward the immediate west of town, has provided a more sound underpinning to the Piedmont pricing.
Piedmont is an excellent gated community with good facilities and an outstanding golf course. Compared to its peers, the overriding positives and lower prices may make Piedmont an excellent value and life style choice despite being several miles further from D.C.
